If there’s one thing that you can guarantee about Wales it’s that the bogs are deeper and the hills are steeper than most other places, it also rains a bit so our mud is generally, sloppier and fouler than most as well.

All these features make the mountains and valleys of Mid Wales perfect trialling territory, and we are lucky enough to have access to some superb sites on farms and the abandoned quarries and mines that litter the area. The farm sites are only used in the dryer months to avoid damage to the land – an issue that causes concern for many people and one that we take seriously. 

If you’ve ever driven over the glorious Plynlimon Pass on your way into Aberystwyth and thought that a day’s playing with your favourite 4x4 up on those bleak mountainsides would make your life complete, you’re right - it will. We sometimes visit the famous Sweet Lamb farm, home to some great rally action and the Hill Rally. We also regularly trial in equally superb sites right across the mountains as far as Knighton, Llandrindod Wells and back across to the coast towards Aberystwyth.  

About half of our members are regular triallers, and with small numbers at most trials we’re never in any sort of rush, the horizontal end of laid back would be a fair description of our Club Members although competition is still strong. But we always welcome New Members whatever vehicle they drive and regardless of their off road driving experience.
