Trisant 20th April 2008

Clerk of Course: John & Elaine Bradshaw

Trial Report or Is 13 an unlucky number?

John stood on the windy site and surveyed all around him,

A difficult task he had set himself, but one he would succeed in,

To lay four sections only, but to reverse each one,

He wondered how long this would take, but the job it must be done.

He toiled all day, the sun did shine, the wind did roar,

By lunchtime he had two sections made but when reversed t’was four,

Days end it came eight sections made, the rain began to patter,

No problem now, the job is done, it really doesn’t matter.

Trial day, first section with fifteen gates to drive through,

Confusion reigns, JPR’s worried, oh what a stew,

Thirteen scored by Mr T, Les chip has lost his way,

Sat Nav’s are being called for, looks like being a good day.

Les chip is sitting in with JPR, no talking is allowed,

Disco Lawrence scored a very good six, he’s looking rather proud,

Now they’re into driving mode, seven clears to their credit,

It’s not that hard, this driving thing, someone must have said it.

Back we go to section one, which is now section three,

It’s been reversed with added bits by a Mr B,

The bank at five is pulling left, when all need to turn right,

This became a problem for four, oh what a sorry plight.

Back to section four, alls going well with clears and one’s and two’s,

JB has been around giving out some clues.

Yellow disco didn’t like the bumps, its wheels they all do spin,

Some might say to trial a disco is a great big sin.

Oh no they’ve had their lunch, and now it’s all down hill (literally)

But look some have made it and their score is nil,

The drivings long with hills and bumps and hollows,

But all enjoy the drive around and anything that follows

Yet more downs and then an up and yet another down,

Remembering the way around these sections causes some to frown,

All are closely watching the four and three, Matthew made it easy,

Tom and Angus on their side to the two and one, might be feeling queasy

Section seven is six rewind with a change here and there,

JB’s trying very hard to be really fair,

Jo’s enthusiastic steering put him on his side,

It all made for an entertaining ride.

Last of the day and then we’re homeward bound,

It’s all been fantastic fun driving this rough ground.

We’ve tried so hard to get some clears,

Thanks COC and marshals, all we can say is cheers.

And just a final thought,

After a day of driving skills and lots of sport,

Of camaraderie and a few near spills,

There will always be a welcome in them there Welsh hills.
